NHS partners in caring is a service project initiative that gives NHS administrative staff the opportunity to go “on the road” to visit NHS sites that can use their energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to make a difference in a completely different, but equally important way. It’s a great outlet for employees to become active in daily service operations and see the NHS mission literally transform spaces and potential.In partnership with Philadelphia Insurance Companies, no assignment was too large or small for the teams that showed up last summer to help prepare for the opening of the new St. Anne’s School and spruce up the playground at NHS Children’s Reach, both located in Philadelphia.Partners in CaringWith nary a computer in sight, employees braved the great outdoors to paint and decorate a fence, mulch garden beds, and plant flowers at Children’s Reach. Indoors, this industrious group could be found scrubbing floors, washing windows, and setting up the classrooms for an Open Houseand the start of a new school year at NHS School St. Anne’s.And that’s just the beginning. Many employees who participated in the “give back” day expressed an interest in continuing these projects at other NHS program sites. Not to worry. A committee with representatives from each of the Divisionsis hard at work reviewing new project ideas.Stay tuned!15
